I cannot tell you how thrilled I was when my friend Karen Colvin shared this recipe from Green Pastures Restaurant. I spend many years going to Green Pastures as a child. The grounds are spectacular – peacocks roam the acreage. The food is delicious – fantastic petite rolls. But it wasn’t until much later in life that I realized they had a spectacularly delicious drink called …
Milk Punch
It is so creamy. Course, it’s also got a little punch. Not too overwhelming, though. This year, I’ll serve it on Christmas morning (yes, always in the morning … makes for a lovely, lazy afternoon) with Kristy’s fabulous Eggs Benedict Casserole. on my grandma’s Rosebud Chintz (above). There will be loads of hot coffee and some Willie Nelson Christmas tunes. Pretty much a perfect Christmas morning.

Secrets of Holiday Sanity
‘All American Girl’ Carrie Underwood and her buttermilk pie

I have tried to force myself to like eggnog for YEARS with no success, so I am beyond delighted to have found this as an alternative. Cannot wait to try it when the holidays roll around this year!
What a delicious recipe to try next Christmas here as well. I usually make a traditional family egg nog called “Coquito” (recipe on my site if you’d like it) but am very willing to try something new :) And I love the photo, just lovely. Email me privately if you’d like to talk china – I have that rose chintz, as well!
I love the sweet little scallops on the china!
