Yes. I might have had a bite of pie for breakfast.

There is no law against it. Besides, it contains butter and eggs: The breakfast of champions.
And thanks be, there is no law against that flaky crust. That easy, beautiful flaky crust. Let’s all just pledge now to never, ever, ever, ever buy pre-made pie crust. Please. All together:
I pledge I will never, ever, ever, ever buy pre-made pie crust.
Buttermilk Pie
Pie Crust
1 1/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 cup oil
Mix together in a pie plate with a fork then press out with your fingers. Yes, easy.
Buttermilk Filling
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
Mix all ingredients thoroughly and pour in shell. Bake at 350 degrees for up to one hour. Watch for the jiggle in the middle. Use a knife to test. When comes out clean pull it out of the oven. Don’t overcook!

Yum!! I agree all around…with this post and with the other two commentors here.
Favorite pie recipe ever. More favorite than the chocolate bourbon pecan pie my family has requested for over 20 years. Absolute easy peasy pie crust; yep, I pledge!
My Aunt Prudence always told me pie was one of the healthiest of desserts because it provides eggs, milk, grains… pretty much the pyramid if you add a piece of fruit.
Can we add another pledge to the crust – that ugly is pretty when homemade is involved? I personally like to call them “rustic.” Makes them sound sexy. I have a VERY sexy rustic cranberry apple pie recipe. And by “sexy,” I mean ugly – which is pretty. You get the idea…
