I’m always on the look out for simple, inexpensive gifts at Christmas. Just a little gift for friends that say … thanks for being so wonderful.
So the other day, I was at Crate & Barrel picking up a wedding gift and saw these darling butter crocks. And right away I thought what a perfect little sussie for sweet friends: Homemade cinnamon honey butter with a loaf of french bread. Mmmm.
My favorite bread recipe is here: Best french country bread ever. But if making bread is overwhelming, I bet your friends would be just as appreciative to have a beautiful loaf from your local bakery. And the good news is the butter recipe requires no skill at all. You just mash it all up with a fork. And it’s so terrific, you could eat it with a spoon.

Cinnamon Honey Butter
4 T butter, softened * 2 t. honey * 1/2 t. cinnamon
Mash all ingredients with a fork til thoroughly combined then smoosh into the crock. Easy-peasy. And delish.
A thoughtful, homemade gift for way under ten dollars. Nice.
