When I was writing The 21 Day Fast Diet, I felt a little crazy. A smidge insecure. Because I talk about how my SWA (strong willed appetite) bosses me around and demands a bowl of Blue Bell peppermint ice cream at night. I mean, I assumed everyone has a little voice in their head that wants ice cream …
But then I got nervous. Because I realized not many of my friends actually talk about a tyrant demanding ice cream. And then I about had a panic attack because upon reading my manuscript, my editor said something like this: “It’s probably important to clarify in the intro that you personify your appetite. Otherwise, I think you might sound a little like you have multi-personality disorder or something.”
Oh.
Okay.
I took her advice. And plan on sending her a brand new car as a thank you gift.
Anyhoo, if you hear voices begging for ice cream, chips & salsa, or chocolate, you’re not alone. But there is a chance you have a SWA … just like me. (PS. We had a little trouble getting started. PPS. I didn’t realize I chortle. A lot.)
