I’ve always loved the start of school but this year it feels different. Because this year, our youngest is at college. Dropped her off last week at the University of Texas. I snapped a quick pic with my phone of her down on the Drag, soaking in the new scenery.
This is the first year I won’t mix up a big ole batch of pancakes on her first day of class or get a hug at the front door when she leaves. And we won’t sit around the table at dinner and talk about her day. Lots of things have changed.
But one important thing has stayed the same: My back to school prayer for Sara.
It stays exactly the same year after year after year.
Here is my back to school prayer for her …
And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself. ~ Acts 20:32
With all the challenges and changes that are inevitable, this prayer reminds me to entrust Sara to God and His plans for her life.
Praying we’ll all trust God with our kids today … and every day.
